Benefits Of Using This Official App Gridlock — Unblock the Red Car

A red car stuck in the middle of a 6×6 parking lot, badly parked vehicles all around. Slide them along their own axis — never sideways — to unblock the red car and drive it out through the exit on the right.

THE OPTIMAL MOVE COUNT IS PROVEN

Every one of the 240 levels has been run through a solver: its minimum move count is not estimated, it is computed by an exhaustive search, then re-checked by automated tests. When the screen says "Moves: 12 · optimal 9", that 9 is a fact. The stars are built on it: 3 stars for the exact optimum, 2 for up to three moves over, 1 for escaping the jam no matter what it took. You always know whether a level can be played better — and by how much.

A DIFFICULTY CURVE THAT ACTUALLY CLIMBS

Four packs of 60 levels, ranked by their proven minimum:
• BEGINNER — 6 to 10 moves: learn the motion, learn to read the board.
• ADVANCED — 11 to 18 moves: the first counter-intuitive detours.
• EXPERT — 19 to 28 moves: you will have to undo in order to redo.
• NIGHTMARE — 29 to 49 moves: long maneuvers where every vehicle moves more than once.

Within each pack, levels are sorted by increasing optimum: the next step up is always a little higher, never a wall.

A HINT THAT THINKS, NOT A RECORDED SOLUTION

Stuck? The hint recomputes the optimal path from your current position — not from the start, not from a stored solution — and shows you the next move: a ghost vehicle and an arrow, the rest is up to you. Even ten wasted moves in, it picks up from where you actually are. Using one simply forfeits the level's perfection star, nothing else: no hint counter, nothing to refill.

MADE FOR PLAYING IN PEACE

• No lives, no energy, no timer: a puzzle can be put down and picked back up — it cannot be "failed".
• Unlimited undo, one-tap restart, and the game in progress resumes exactly where it was, even after closing the app.
• The optimal count display can be switched off in the settings, for those who prefer searching without a reference.
• One gesture: a vehicle slides along its axis and snaps to the grid. Vibration can be turned off.
• Dark or light theme, carefully tuned contrast; vehicles are told apart by shape and position, not just color.

SIMPLE AND HONEST

• Works entirely offline, from the first move to the last.
• No ads, no videos to sit through, no hints sold one by one.
• No account, no sign-up: your progress stays on your phone and nowhere else.
• The first 40 levels are included. A single one-time purchase — just one, no subscription — unlocks all 240 for good, and can be restored after switching phones.

This sliding block puzzle takes ten seconds to understand and plays with one thumb — standing on the train or lying in bed. What is different here: a real difficulty curve, from 6 to 49 moves, and an exact "optimal" on every one of the 240 boards.

The exit is on the right. The route is up to you.
